A Healthcare Management Services Organization that is part of a group of long term care affiliates who provides a full range of care solutions including nursing home care, managed long term care, assisted living programs, senior housing, rehabilitation services and specialized services such as elder abuse prevention and memory care is looking to add to their Human Resources department an Assistant Vice President of Human Resources

Collectively, this organization empowers over 12,000 patients, residents and members to live a healthy life with excellent care provided every day.


The Asst. Vice President of Human Resources will manage and direct an array of Human Resources generalist activities for all of their organizations. Which requires wide latitude for independent judgment, problem solving and initiative. This position is responsible for providing leadership and assistance in the administration of the HR function through planning, coordination and execution of all departmental operations and activities. This includes recruitment and selection of exempt and non-exempt positions, training and development, employee relations, labor relations, benefits, immigration, credentialing, compliance with legislation, NYS Department of Health Standards and compensation issues as well as being involved in the investigation and resolution of contractual disputes and grievances.


A Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university in Human Resources or

a related field with 15 years of progressively responsible Human Resources management experience in a union environment, preferably 1199 SEIU, and PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP required. Master’s preferred.

The successful candidate must be a detailed oriented team player who possesses excellent interpersonal, analytical, organizational, communication, conflict resolution and writing skills in order to handle multiple projects and effectively work with numerous constituencies. The ability to function with minimal direction, under pressure, and to approach unique problems and situations with creativity and innovativeness is essential. Knowledge of Microsoft Office required.
