Job Description:
Responsible for developing, enhancing, modifying and/or maintaining applications in the Global Markets environment. Software developers design, code, test, debug and document programs as well as support activities for the corporate systems architecture. Employees work closely with business partners in defining requirements for system applications. Employees are expected to have in-depth capital markets product knowledge, and manage a high level of risk. Employees typically have in-depth knowledge of development tools and languages. Is clearly recognized as a content expert by peers. Individual contributor role. Typically requires 5-7 years of applicable experience. This job code is only to be used for associates supporting Global Markets.

There is an opportunity for a position within Global Markets Technology FICC organization for a programmer to join the Development and Technology Group. The development position requires someone with strong technical skills, ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, and be able to deliver a first class solution. This team works closely with other teams across the FICC business to provide automation tooling, management reporting, and other horizontal solutions. Being able to automate processes, find efficiencies and build tools are essential in order to strive in this fast paced, changing environment.

Summary of Responsibilities

Build Python applications, tools, and APIs
Generation of unit tests to ensure future reliability of code
Engage with team members responsible for creation of User Interfaces
Active participation in team development processes & ceremonies
Summary of Essential Skills Required

Understanding/Knowledge of large scale application Infrastructure technologies including databases, middleware, batch schedulers, grids, etc
Level of UNIX/Linux understanding as needed to use tooling and implement applications
Understanding of Object Orientated programming languages including Python
Web programming experience in HTML, JavaScript, and related technologies is a plus
Understanding of software development lifecycle
Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI tooling
Self-motivated, enthusiastic and must be a team player
Ability to work independently on projects and manage concurrent tasks
Ability to analyze and solve technical problems quickly and effectively
Strong communication skills, with a global team - both written and oral
