Mendix is on a mission to fundamentally reinvent the way applications are created, by abstracting the process and enabling everyone who has a stake in an enterprise’s digital future — business people and analysts, web developers, software engineers, even CEOs — to meaningfully participate, thereby creating better applications faster. Our goal is simply to create the future of software development.

As part of a massive investment in marketing to support our market-leading growth, we are looking for a dynamic, creative, and results-oriented Director of Product Marketing to lead this important function. Our ideal candidate is someone who has led diverse and geographically-dispersed technical marketing teams in the past. Our product marketing team is home to a talented team of former product managers, sales engineers, and services consultants, so technical acumen will be necessary to develop credibility with the team.

Responsibilities Include:
Providing strong leadership and vision to Product Marketing. Creating a long-term strategic vision and plan for the function, and building the relationships across Mendix and developing the team members necessary to deliver on this plan.
Leading the team through dynamic adjustments to ever-changing go-to-market plans and product capabilities.
Overseeing the creation of the core Mendix messaging and positioning in the form of messaging briefs, personas, and competitive positioning.
Championing team activities that support quarterly campaigns and other marketing activities.
Participating in planning and ongoing collaboration with leaders of other Marketing functions such as demand generation, lead conversion, PR, and AR, as well as Sales Enablement, to match product themes, messaging, and launches, with marketing programs and sales initiatives.
Maintaining close relationships with R&D leaders to remain familiar with product strategy and roadmap, such that it can inform thought leadership and campaign content.
Developing individuals’ skills around written and spoken communication, technical familiarity with the platform, stakeholder management and collaboration, and personal growth.

Ideal background:
10+ years of relevant professional experience.
Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field. Advanced degree preferred.
Success working across geographically dispersed teams; ability to build relationships across complex organizations spanning Sales, Services, and R&D.
Exposure to several of the following concepts and technologies: agile application development methodologies, application lifecycle management, DevOps, cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes, Puppet, Jenkins), modern application frameworks, application performance management, automated test frameworks, CI/CD tools.
Maniacal focus on delivering the best possible outcomes to our customers.
