WSP is currently initiating a search for a Mechanical Engineer II for our New York City office.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in the design and inspection of machinery for heavy movable structures such as movable bridges, locks, dams, and travelers.
- Candidates should demonstrate a keen interest in the transportation infrastructure projects.
- Highly motivated and able to work in the field.
- Ability to travel to project sites.
- Preparation of field and inspection reports.

Mechanical engineer with 5-10 years of experience in the design and inspection of heavy movable structures such as movable bridges, locks, and dams.
The candidate should have a BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis in machine design and engineering mechanics.
Candidates should demonstrate a keen interest in transportation infrastructure projects
Highly motivated and able to work in the field.
Working knowledge of CAD systems such as AutoCAD and Microsystems is desired
Should have a PE license
Good communication skills at all levels, both in oral presentation and written reports
