Develop machining processes across a variety of diesel engine components. Work with the Manufacturing and Design Engineering team to produce machining processes to meet short-term and long-term business goals. Provide technical expertise to the team; direct involvement with machine tool selection, fixture design and machining operations.
Utilize CAM programming and verification software to create and modify CNC programs
Provide direct CNC programming support in both turning and milling processes including multi-axis, multi-spindle applications
Edit legacy NC Programs, develop tooling and fixturing solutions as required
Develop tooling solutions with outside vendors, managing design intent and implementation
Supply insight on both internally produced and outside vendor machine fixturing designs
Use Six Sigma tools and root-cause analysis to troubleshoot manufacturing processes with the product team
Mentor entry level personnel in NC, CAM, Modeling as required
Pursue new manufacturing technology, process improvement techniques and state of the art equipment to enhance the facilities manufacturing capabilities
Ability to work independently and as a team contributor
Associate's Degree in Technical Field
A minimum of 5 years of CNC programming experience
A minimum of 5 years CAM programming experience NX-CAM, Gibbs CAM, MasterCAM (a high level of Siemens NX knowledge is Preferred)
Ability to read, interpret, and understand engineering documents (CAD models, engineering drawings, quality inspection/control plans, manufacturing instructions) including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Ability to load/unload and set up parts in CNC equipment (castings, setters, molds, fixtures, raw stock, etc.)
Completion of a Machinist’s Certification program
3D modeling experience
Six Sigma Greenbelt or DFSS Certification
Ability to utilize verification software (Vericut Preferred)
Experience working with NX Post Builder
PC-DMIS CMM programming
Industry training in shop practices, blueprint reading, metrology practices and layout
