Job Description
About the Position
We’re seeking a motivated and organized individual capable of prioritizing, multitasking and delivering results in tight timeframes amongst a variety of complex Environmental Social Governance (ESG) issues within the business context. This individual is both experienced and passionate about ESG / Corporate Social Responsibility / Sustainability in the business setting. The selected candidate will possess a broad skill set enabling the individual to successfully work across functions (e.g. manufacturing, packaging, supply chain, product health, philanthropy, employee engagement) at all levels of the company globally. Externally, the candidate will likewise have great facility communicating and working with an array of key stakeholders (e.g. customers, suppliers, investors, NGOs). The role is duplicitous, in that it is expected that the successful candidate will also be voted in and serve on the Kraft Heinz Foundation Board, as well as hold several daily responsibilities tied to the Kraft Heinz Foundation’s goal to alleviate global hunger.
This position reports to the Global Director Environmental Social Governance and President of the Kraft Heinz Foundation, as part of a small but highly effective Global ESG Team that directs the design, development, execution and continuous improvement of the Kraft Heinz ESG strategy, goals and initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities:
Environmental Social Governance
Support strategy, development and implementation of ESG initiatives. Key operational footprint areas include energy, greenhouse gases, water and waste. Sustainable packaging, animal welfare, sustainable ingredient sourcing, product health, human rights, deforestation and ecological restoration, supply chain due diligence and food waste are likewise key areas of concentration
Provide research, data and analytical assessment in areas of focus as well as related emerging ESG trends
Participate in Global ESG Steering Group as key member/chair of respective subcommittees to drive continuous improvement to achieve goals, providing accurate and timely reporting of ESG areas
Support external reporting on progress of key initiatives to drive improvement and inclusion in key ratings indices (e.g. Sustainalytics, DJSI, CDP, ATNI)
Support investor relations efforts on ESG engagement
Support ESG cascade of key performance indicators to ensure respective Kraft Heinz personnel have appropriate ESG responsibilities facilitating high collaboration towards ESG goals
Support employee engagement efforts related to ESG with regular communications updates to the Kraft Heinz intranet, global emails, town halls and through educational sessions for new and existing employees. Create interactive engagement opportunities on ESG for employees
Lead content creation and design elements, as well as internal/external communications strategy and implementation of annual ESG Report and microsite, with supporting launch elements (e.g. video, infographics, pictures, product images, social media assets)
Lead periodic updates and/or full assessment of Kraft Heinz ESG materiality
Kraft Heinz Foundation
Support strategy to alleviate global hunger, through financial strength, sound partnership organizations and facilitation of efficient Kraft Heinz donations
Support grant application and approval process
Manage relationships with critical non-profit partners
Lead sound administration of Foundation Board meetings, recording and annual audit process
Lead successful related employee initiatives (e.g. meal packaging events, vision trips to supported locations, employee match programs) along with effective communications on same to global community
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required
3-5 years related experience; background in ESG/CSR/Sustainability
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proactive and results-oriented in a time-sensitive environment
Ability to manage multiple assignments/projects and prioritize among a variety of initiatives
A consummate team player with advanced abilities to work collaboratively with a vast array of constituents on sensitive, complex topics with potential big impacts on the business, the environment and various stakeholders, in short timeframes
Enthusiasm for ESG/CSR/sustainability at Kraft Heinz
