Growing Geotechnical Engineering Equipment company specializing in instrumentation, materials testing, and environmental protection products is seeking qualified sales engineer to act as Regional Sales Manager for the company’s Western Region (AZ,NM, CO, UT, NV, CA and HI). The successful candidate must be technically savvy and able to communicate with civil engineers and technicians, as well as being a high energy, target oriented sales professional. The candidate must reside within the territory.

Job Summary:

The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) is responsible for achieving annual revenue targets for their geographical region, while managing the expenses for that region. The RSM is also responsible for managing and maintaining client relationships within their region. The Regional Sales Manager will also perform other duties as may be assigned.

Major Duties:

  • Develop and implement sales/marketing strategies that will grow regional market share.
  • Meet or exceed regional sales goals.
  • Develop strong relationships with key customers and specifiers in the region.
  • Maintain regular contact with important consultants, designers, government agencies and customers.
  • Maintain and expand customer base by building rapport with customers and identifying new customer opportunities. Identify and maintain contact with project decision-makers at each phase of its sales cycle. Record and maintain customer and opportunity database on a daily basis.
  • Prepare quotes and bids for customers in your region. Coordinate with other Regional Sales Managers to provide quotes to your customers for projects in their regions.
  • Stay current on product and applications knowledge. Provide market feedback to the marketing department.
  • Attend technical and sales training courses as directed. Promote product lines at trade shows and exhibits.

Qualifications:

Sales experience in a technical market, some experience in geotechnical work. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or Associate’s degree in relevant field with 5+ years of sales experience is required. Good understanding of mechanical devices is essential. Must be motivated and willing to meet company goals and objectives. Must be organized and understand time management. Ability to relate well to people, especially other engineers and customers of various nationalities. Presentation experience and professional image. Ability to travel up to 50% of time. Must be computer literate.

Training Required For This Position:

Dependent upon individual but may include external sales training and classes in theory of stress/strain, geotechnics, environmental monitoring. Internal product training.

Compensation:

Compensation is dependent upon experience, but is competitive and includes base salary, incentives, company vehicle, generous health benefits, and a 401k plan.
