Steel Point Solutions currently has a need for a System Engineer with a Full Scope Poly to perform the following:
In this role you will analyze user’s requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications. You will analyze system requirements and leads design and development activities. Guide users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies. You will provide technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology. Incorporates new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations and develop technical documentation as needed. Develops system Architecture and system design documentation. Guides system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. You will be interacting with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts, and communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
Responsibilities and duties
Design and develop custom security policies based on customer requirements and the analysis of specialized data. Provide technical direction for the development, engineering, testing, and integrating customer and security requirements, and provide recommendations based on security best practice. Create documentation of customer requirements. Recommend courses of actions to government personnel. Experience interacting with senior-level government executives. Serve as a member of the Configuration Control Board (CCB). Interact with key personal to understand and explain details of custom solutions. Maintain knowledge of current and evolving agency, national, and international standards applicable to security engineering. Participate in problem analysis, cybersecurity evaluations, and threat analysis.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.
CISSP certification. Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for certification.
Experience: Nine (9) years of ISSE experience.
Five (5) years experience with system security design process, defense-in-depth/breadth, engineering life-cycle, information domains, principles of IA (confidentiality, integrity, non-repudiation, availability, access control), and security testing.
Two (2) years experience analyzing proprietary data formats.
