Position Title: Online Microschool Guide (First through Fifth Grade)

Position Summary: We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Online Microschool Guide to join our team. The successful candidate will teach students in grades 1 through 5 using a blend of STEAM, nature-based, play-based, and project-based learning methodologies. The Guide will be responsible for creating a dynamic online learning environment that encourages exploration, collaboration, and personalized learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement a curriculum that incorporates STEAM, nature-based, play-based, and project-based learning principles.
- Design and deliver engaging, interactive online lessons that cater to the diverse needs and learning styles of students in grades 1-5.
- Create a supportive and inclusive virtual classroom environment that fosters a sense of community and encourages student participation.
- Personalize learning experiences to meet individual student needs, interests, and learning goals.
- Utilize a variety of digital tools and resources to enhance the online learning experience.
- Assess and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing regular feedback to students and parents.
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, keeping them informed of student progress and addressing any concerns.
- Collaborate with other educators and staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning community.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in education and online teaching.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, STEAM Education, or a related field preferred.
- Teaching certification in Elementary Education or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching elementary-aged students, preferably in an online or virtual setting.
- Strong understanding of STEAM, nature-based, play-based, and project-based learning principles.
- Proficiency with virtual teaching platforms, digital tools, and technology.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and engaging learning environment for young students.
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with personalized learning and differentiated instruction.
- Familiarity with various online teaching resources and educational software.
- Experience working with diverse student populations and adapting instruction to meet individual needs.
- Background in nature-based or outdoor education.
