The University Programs team at Kraft Heinz does not subscribe to a traditional university recruiting playbook. Our Programs serve as the critical talent pipeline for our next generation of leadership, and the Lead, University Relations will define the short and long-term strategies that allow us to attract, develop, and fill that pipeline to fuel our future. We are seeking an entrepreneurial, creative leader who can build, scale, and evolve our existing capability to meet Kraft Heinz’s growth ambitions and further our mission to make life delicious for our consumers around the world. This individual will bring industry & thought leadership, a history of empathetic people management, and a track record of successful and progressively responsible leadership in fast-paced companies.
This leader will construct and deploy the vision, accountability mechanisms and programmatic strategies to attract the right University talent to fuel our programs. Concurrently, they will create, implement & maintain the needed Talent solutions to train, rotate, and build future leaders of Kraft Heinz. This individual will work directly to advise, influence and steer our Global Chief Executive Officer, our global executive leadership team, our US President and our US leadership team toward a cohesive University Relations strategy. They will oversee the University Relations team, and own five unique programs: US undergraduate Internship Program (40 interns in a 10 week summer program), US undergraduate Trainee Program (40 trainees annually for a 10 month rotational program), MBA Internship Program (15 interns in a 10 week summer program), MBA Full-Time Program (15 MBAs annually for direct positions to lead in a particular function/team), and a Global Manufacturing Trainee Program (8 Trainees annually for a 10 month operations focuses rotational program). This leader will connect on behalf of Kraft Heinz with thousands of student candidates, roughly 200 internal business partners, and countless university representatives. This role reports to the Head of US Talent & Performance.
This role will develop and execute the following initiatives/strategies:
Define and champion a clear point of view on the purpose, future, and look of success for each emerging talent program.
Evangelize and coalesce support across senior executive leadership, including our Global Chief Executive Officer, our Global Executive Leadership Team, and our US Zone leadership team. Meet regularly with this group to advise, obtain feedback, and share results.
Design and lead the early talent recruitment strategy, focusing on undergraduate and MBA students from leading programs, with a keen focus on Diversity & Inclusion. Leverage recruiting knowledge, recruitment results and competitive market intelligence to drive strategies and influence key internal stakeholders on recruitment activities and programs.
Manage and drive Kraft Heinz’s early career rotation program strategy focused on building & retaining future leaders for the organization; lead the development and execution of onboarding, training, & events within the duration of each program
Own the Company Brand at top Universities to drive interest, educate, and cultivate strong relationships that support Kraft Heinz Internship, Trainee and MBA initiatives.
Provide ongoing coaching, training, and education to trainees, interns, and MBAs as well as their managers - both within & post-graduation of the program
Partner directly with Business Unit Presidents and Function Heads to understand future talent needs; build a recruitment, assessment and development strategy to anticipate and meet those needs
Drive communication and awareness for the University Relations program internally and externally
Continuously evolve our programs and recruitment strategies to deliver a uniquely Kraft Heinz experience – robust and engaging - for all program stakeholders, including participating interviewers, campus team members, and program applicants
Champion and ensure programs foster an inclusive, empathetic environment and deliver diversity of representation across all dimensions; connect dots between future business needs and talent pipeline gaps.
Own & manage an annual budget for all recruitment & program needs
In partnership with the Employer Brand team, create a "best in class" social media strategy to reach and engage students, alumni, educators and parents
Leverage Company employee alumni to attract and gain access to the best students
7+ years of experience in Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Leadership Program Development or other related experience; minimum 3+ years of University Relations experience required.
Demonstrated success building or significantly evolving a University Program at an organization of scale preferred; experience coordinating and managing Talent programs required.
Proven track record of operating as an owner, taking on entrepreneurial challenges and simplifying the complex. Strong problem-solving mindset, with the ability to seek creative solutions to problems as they arise.
Standout executive communications skills, including a history of delivering alignment on critical decisions and grounding principles to executive audiences.
Exceptional customer service focus, including attention to producing quality results.
Experience working with and supporting all levels of a broad, matrixed organization, especially senior leaders. Exhibits a strong executive presence & ability to work independently with Executive leadership, influence HR leaders, and drive excitement around new initiatives effectively.
Strong Project Management skillset including a keen eye for details and strong organization; can structure project teams and provide clarity of direction to a wide range of stakeholders under significant time pressure.
Proven team leader who can navigate extreme time pressures and guide a team to do the same.
A natural connector, who can comfortably switch between external discussions and internal stakeholders; a public face and evangelist for the Kraft Heinz University program, and simultaneously a dot connector internally who can spot opportunity and pivot strategy based on current and future business needs.
