Full Job Description
Merchandising Analysts are internal consultants for AutoZone’s Merchandising department. Responsible for providing data for the line review process and acting as category management advisors. In addition to tracking promotions, contests, tests, and team objectives, responsible for monitoring team categories to ensure objectives are met. Will provide a statistical and financial foundation for merchandising decisions and consult other departments on merchandising practices and tactics.
Solving problems through data analysis and reporting.
Consulting with Category Managers on business decisions to provide a statistical and financial foundation.
Partnering with Category Managers during the line review process.
Analyzing proposed promotions and tests to determine feasibility and profitability.
Maintaining accountability for the testing process which includes: initial approval, test site selection, measurement, rollout decision and exit strategy.
Querying tables to extract data necessary to perform analysis.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Statistics, or similar field; graduate degree preferred (MBA)
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Merchandising Analysis, Category Management, Statistics, or comparable field
Programming skills and understanding of database structures preferred
SAS or programming language is required
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work with and contribute to a team
