The Role:

We're looking for a creative and versatile search generalist to participate on a variety of projects including evaluating jobs, building taxonomies, classifying online content, analyzing search behavior, and diagnosing problems with our search product.

You will be part of the team that measures and improves on the quality of our job search product. Your work will help us train machine-learning algorithms to improve relevance and combat fraud.

What you will do:

  • You will own and be responsible for measuring the success of Glassdoor's search product.
  • Tag and classify jobs, companies, search queries, and improve the taxonomy of the data
  • Test new or changed search functionality and help evaluate impact
  • Analyze search problems reported by job seekers or our partners, determine what part of our system may be responsible, and work with the team to resolve quality issues
  • Collaborate with software engineers to improve our product quality
  • Advise business teams to communicate how our partners can improve the job page on their sites
  • Work with our Data Science team to evaluate their algorithms and build training data for modelling purposes
You are:

  • Internet savvy, familiar with Google and job search sites
  • Excellent at written and oral communication
  • Constantly driven to improve your area of responsibility
  • Using Python/R and/or Query Based Syntax in your work
  • Motivated and can work independently
  • 3+ years of experience working in tech industry. Experience in Data analysis / evaluation / mining role / knowledge engineering useful
  • 4-year Bachelor's degree (Linguistics background a HUGE plus!)
