Visit Napa Valley, the destination marketing organization for the Napa Valley, is seeking a talented Content and Social Media Manager to join our growing team. This role will ideally be filled by a very social-savvy individual who is adept at brand storytelling; excellent at creating compelling and authentic content; highly skilled with all social platforms, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, and Twitter; and nimble with community management.
We are looking for an innovator to help grow our brand presence and expand our organic reach and engagement across priority social media networks, including Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, and Twitter, and the ideal candidate will excel at producing assets that can live across multiple digital platforms, including the blog, newsletter, and website.
The Content and Social Media Manager will help in developing and implementing the organization’s social media strategy, including leveraging of social media channels to amplify marketing objectives. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain online content that attracts attention, generates interest, and is easily shared across social platforms and networks. Further, this role will require a working knowledge for establishing and maximizing relationships with bloggers, influencers, or others in social media networks.
Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Content and Social Media Manager will be responsible for collaborating with internal teams to conceptualize and create original content that distinctly represents the Visit Napa Valley brand and the Napa Valley region at large.
This position is a full-time, on-site role and requires travel (by car) throughout the Napa Valley. Inside office at approximately 60% and outside of the office on assignment at approximately 40% of the week.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Write and edit creative and organic content using rich storytelling techniques to convey the story of Napa Valley, and all its assets and resources, for use on all channels, including but not limited to, website, newsletter, blog, and social media
- Curate and produce rich, relevant, and targeted images and videos to support content on all social channels
- Active community management on all social channels
- Build, develop, and maintain positive professional relationships with industry partners through proactive, professional communication
- Analyze and utilize metrics to inform best practices and tactics for engagement and audience growth with a sharp understanding of what works on each platform
- Possess a strong understanding of the evolving social media landscape and have the ability to use trends and insights to pivot accordingly
- Have strong organization skills to maintain systematic record of copy and image and video resource library
- Have a general passion for all things social and a keen ability to stay up-to-date with online cultural moments and behaviors
- Engage in, develop an understanding for, and assist with department-wide marketing campaigns and initiatives
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience working in social media or digital marketing
- Excellent understanding of social trends; audiences; engagement tactics
- Ability to synthesize metrics and insights to inform practices and actionable tactics
- Ability to represent the organization and build/maintain relationships with industry stakeholders
- Firm understanding and high-functioning skill level with current tools and apps related to capturing, formatting, and editing image and video assets
