The Consumer Technology team is committed to the safety of consumer and commercial Hi-Tech products. These products include power supplies, small batteries, lasers, information technology equipment, audio/video equipment, vaping devices, and telecom type equipment. The Laboratory Technician for the Consumer Technology team in Research Triangle Park, NC will play a vital role in the successful completion of customer projects. You will be responsible for testing customer samples in a laboratory environment by following defined test plans and data sheets and working directly with our engineers. This is an opportunity for working on a newly established and exciting safety standard.
As directed follows defined test plans and datasheets. Evaluates test performance and sample operation to properly evaluate test results. Records and explains test results and completes test report for Engineering staff.
As instructed examines customer samples and learns to operate basic tests for each case. Communicates with customers during setup and operation to ensure proper evaluation.
Operates with supervision within defined limits of responsibility.
Develops working knowledge of the job, methods, instrumentation and systems.
Performs other duties as directed.
This role is located in Research Triangle Park, NC and reports to the Operations Leader.
To succeed in this role, you should:
Have an Associate’s Degree or Some University education in an Electrical/Electronics discipline.
Have strong communication skills.
Have a high sense of responsibility and commitment along with the ability to work independently.
