What You’ll Get to Do:
Reporting to Chief Marketing Officer for North America, the Vice President of Strategic Communications leads and directs the PR and social media team within the Marketing department
Leads strategic communications strategy to support corporate goals and to achieve specific targets of sales divisions as required.
Responsibility to communicate both externally and internally to maximize awareness of the Panasonic brand while optimizing both earned and owned media channels.
Oversees all media relations, PR, social media and internal communications
Major responsibilities include strategy, planning, execution and measurement in support of brand repositioning, executive communications, crisis communications, analyst relations and business unit support.

Key Accountabilities:
30% - Develop strategic plans and performance dashboard for achieving objectives around press/analyst coverage, speaking engagements and social media reach and engagement.

10% - Works with HR and other internal functional groups teams to craft effective communications program and processes to standardize communications to employees, stakeholders, etc.

20% - Proactively seeks executive media and social communications opportunities for Panasonic NA executives and subject matter experts.

20% - Manages team, budget and liaison/reporting to Panasonic Global newsroom team.

20% - Manages reactive press and issues management for Panasonic NA and its business units

What You’ll Bring:
Education & Experience:
Minimum of 15 years in a leadership role in public relations and digital/social media; journalism experience, preferably in technology.
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, communications, digital studies, marketing or related field. Experience working for a Japan-based technology company is preferred.

Competencies:
Requires demonstrated proficiency in business writing and understanding of editorial processes.
Requires proven ability to plan and implement strategies leveraging owned and paid Social media

Communications:
Must have network of media contacts and be adept in presenting ideas to them persuasively.
Must be able to become trusted advisor and thoughtful decision-maker.

Other Requirements:
Photography and video skills are a plus
Travel both domestically and internationally as required (up to ~20%); must as required; must have valid drivers license.
