VISIONS Summer Transition Program (5 Weeks) - Program Assistant

VISIONS Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired. - Queens, NY (30+ days ago)

The goal of the NYSCB Summer Transition Program is to provide legally blind high school students between the ages of 14 and 18 an opportunity to build their skills in independent living, orientation and mobility, technology, career and social skills. This independence is achieved through the participants living in a supervised dormitory setting on a college campus along with trips off campus. There will be time allotted for career development including work readiness skills such as resume preparation, interviewing techniques and workplace etiquette. The program runs on Sunday afternoon through Friday afternoon for four weeks. The students go home during this off time.
