Messaging holds a central place in our lives, whether it’s coordinating a meet-up, sharing photos with friends, or sending thoughts to a loved one. Rich Communications Services (RCS) messaging is designed to upgrade mobile networks beyond texting Short Message Service (SMS), while enabling users to natively use features they have come to love through over-the-top (OTT) apps such as sharing high resolution photos and larger files, chat with a group, know when messages are read, or make video calls. Google is working with the mobile Carriers across the world to provide both an awesome Android client, and SMS scalability through these partnerships. However, RCS brings an added dimension of complexity to this, having to not only serve the mobile messaging users but also the Mobile Carriers and OEMs.
The Communications Business Development team develops and manages these key industry partner relationships with mobile carriers and device manufacturers.
