In 2017, IBE opened a new SMT facility in Hillsboro, Oregon to better service North American customers. At present, IBE (USA) has a 24000 sq.ft plant equipped with three advanced Yamaha assembly lines, advanced solder paste spray printing machine and automatic optimum inspection Machine (AOI), which are able to assemble 01005 package component, to better provide a full range of PCB assembly services to fit customer's needs. IBE (USA) especially specializes in Quick Turn / Small -to- Medium Quantity PCBA orders. Our state-of-the-art IBE China facility is used for large quantity needs. IBE not only provide a complete manufacturing solution to satisfy customer needs but also make the process more economical to our customers.

IBE is hiring experienced QC Inspectors within the EMS industry. On a daily basis, candidates shall be responsible for inspecting surface mount and through hole solder using IPC standards to assure nothing but the highest quality product is produced. The QC Inspector shall also stop defects from moving through the factory or being shipped to customers, including in-process inspection, final inspection and components inspection. The QC Inspector shall, when not performing inspection, assist Sr. Staff with improving IBE QA procedures and process along with supporting engineering activities related to quality improvement of IBE products in compliance to customer’s requirements.

The desire candidate is experienced in PCB/PCBA manufacturing processes, in-depth understanding of assembly defect types, having the ability to recognize problems in the operation process or with the components and able to solve problems with minimal assistance. Candidates shall also be familiar with IPC-A-610 standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform daily QC activities with in-process inspection, final inspection and components inspection.
  • Inspect boards produced from SMT process as they are produced on/off the line.
  • Inspect boards produced from hand or machine assembly processes.
  • Runfirst article inspection (FAI).
  • Run AOI programs as needed to inspect boards.
  • Ensure that products meet all customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate quality issues to the SMT team, Managers and Engineers as needed.
  • Implement changes & improvements of existing QA procedures and Systems.
  • Support engineering activities related to quality improvement of IBE products in compliance to customer’s requirements as needed.
  • Support internal quality audits and maintain documentation.
  • Must be flexible within a small working environment, hand soldering and other technician type activities may be given when QC inspection is not required.

Education and experience requirements

  • Associates degree with 3-5 years of QC experience in PCB Assembly manufacturing, or 10 years of direct field related experience. IPC 610 CIS Certification is a plus.
  • knowledge of SMT manufacturing processes with in-depth understanding of PCB assembly defect types.
  • Must be familiar with the use of common electronic inspection tools such as magnifiers, microscopes, measurement calipers, multi-meters, ect. Knowledge of AOI, X-ray, BGA is a plus.
  • Must be able to read and understand work instructions, checklists and Bill of Materials.
  • Candidates should have knowledge of ISO 9001, Knowledge of IPC-A-610 standards and Safety practices.
  • Candidates should be familiar with and able to use as needed, MS Word, Excel and Outlook, knowledge of ERP systems is a plus.
