The Environmental Services Director is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the physical plant services unit in accordance with policies and procedures, current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing our facility to assure that our facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner.


  • Strong organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of the life Safety Regulation
  • Be in good physical / mental health
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English through both speech and writing
  • Must meet background check requirements outlined in the Bars to Employment Guidelines from the state of Texas at time of hire and annually thereafter
  • Must be able to pass drug screen
  • Participates in and completes all required in-service trainings

Essential Job Functions:

  • Understands and agrees with Momentum Skilled Service’s Philosophy and goals to maintain and/or enhance each resident’s quality of care, quality of life
  • Maintains the interior / exterior of all buildings and grounds in all seasons
  • Ensures the performance, condition and reliability of all plumbing, mechanical and electrical equipment, and HVAC equipment to ensure efficient operations of all equipment
  • Develops, evaluates and maintains preventative Maintenance Program
  • Develops, implements and maintains written maintenance policies and procedures
  • Conducts an annual assessment of facilities to identify needed improvement and repairs
  • Schedules required major equipment purchases, remodeling, and special projects, required inspections or cleanings as assigned
  • Ensures safety of all residents, visitors and staff
  • Plans, coordinates and carries out all fire drills in all buildings in accordance with State Fire Regulations – member or chair of Safety Commitment
  • Able to be contacted for emergencies 24 hours a day
  • Duties for department heads – manager of day, tours, grievances, etc.
  • Oversee supervision of laundry / housekeeping
  • Demonstrates a working knowledge of the hazardous waste and product rules, blood borne rules and precautions. Blood and body fluid exposure is likely to occur
  • Perform other duties as assigned
