Enterprise Infrastructure (EI)
Enterprise Infrastructure (EI) delivers and manages essential and innovative technology infrastructure solutions to Morgan Stanley’s businesses. EI is responsible for driving the production, operations, and engineering of our data centers, voice and data networking solutions, mainframe servers and databases, distributed computing, wireless technologies, and associated end user capabilities.
-Actively participate in discussion of proposed solutions with User Departments and Development Team members.-Prepare a work plan, including estimates, for all assignments and report progress on plan to team management.-Convert business requirements into detailed specifications. Prepare flowcharts, data flows, and other documents as required to illustrate the logical operations involved.
- Code and debug batch and interactive programs based on application specifications.-Analyze, review, and modify programs to increase operating efficiency.-Perform unit, system, integration, and regression testing. Detect syntax or logic errors during program testing. Revise programs as needed to correct errors.-Work with other Technology Departments in a collaborative effort to document or describe program development, logic flows, and integration points.-Perform production support duties as required to keep production software systems operational according to published service level agreements.-Assist in research of production software issues to determine root cause and resolution of the issue.-Maintain knowledge of and adhere to firm standards and procedures.-Required to provide oncall / off hour support on rotating basis.
-5+ years development experience using Perl.-Experience with Linux Operating System.-Experience with Unix Shell Scripting.-Experience programming in C.-Experienced in Microsoft Word, Excel and Visio productsDesirable Technical skills: -Familiarity with Mainframe systems.-Autosys schedulerNon- Technical skills: -Strong written and oral communication skills-Managing Multiple Priorities-Expertise in Teamwork Situations-Expertise in Decision Making and Critical Thinking
