SUMMARY: Responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all Volunteer Special Projects
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
Develop and run the Volunteer program under the guidelines of Hospice regulations.
Recruit, educate and select volunteers.
Coordinate Volunteer Special Projects (Quilt Squares, Afghan and lap quilts)
Supervise and evaluate volunteers in a timely and appropriate manner.
Maintain monthly statistics.
Work with Human Resources in maintaining volunteer personnel files.
Reevaluate volunteer program as necessary.
Coordinate support/education meetings.
Provide information to individuals and community groups about hospice volunteer services.
All other duties assigned by supervisor.

Sound understanding the Hospice Volunteer program.
Ability to complete and train volunteers on how to complete volunteer special projects (Sewing/ Quilting Skills Preferred)
Understands the hospice philosophy.
Ability to supervise, coordinate and evaluate volunteer special projects
Experience at working both independently and in teams, collaborative environment is essential.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Strong Customer Service skills.
Good team building skills.
Flexible Hours and ability to travel to various locations to support volunteer projects
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in health care setting. Hospice and/or volunteer experience preferred.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have and maintain a valid Michigan Driver's License, maintain automobile insurance coverage and have access to a reliable automobile.
