The Group Lead of EM Procurement is responsible for over $450 MM USD of spend for Kraft Heinz within the US Zone. The individual in this position will be a Strategic Procurement Expert adept in complexities related to External Manufacturing to drive both financial and performance results. Manage key internal stakeholders including Business Unit, Operations, Finance, Quality, R&D and Global Procurement teams. This role will be responsible for developing and executing category and sourcing strategy, managing key EM relationships as well as strategize and lead key negotiations. This person would be responsible for full financial performance of the EM Business Unit portfolio as well as Productivity development and delivery. This lead will lead and develop a team of Procurement Buyers focused on EM within the Business Unit Portfolio.
Lead and facilitate the strategic sourcing process for finished goods made externally
Perform market and industry analysis, EM research and review, category and EM segmentation, sourcing events, analysis, negotiations, contracting and implementation.
Category strategy development and ongoing category management as a result of sourcing activities to ensure the most effective supply base design.
Develop and leverage EM driven innovation opportunities and build platforms for visibility with Business Unit to help drive the growth agenda.
Develop and build the EM Annual Operating Plan (AOP) including inflation, productivity and cash. Partner closely with R&D on development of Value Engineering part of productivity plan.
Strategize and lead key escalations with EM partners on a variety of performance metrics such as attainment and capacity
Manage key cross functional stakeholder relationships including Business Unit, Operations, Finance, Quality and R&D to drive overall strategy execution
Responsible for the delivery of specific productivity and cash targets in alignment with overarching goals and objectives, with a focus on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
Closely interact with the Procurement Global Category Leads/Director and other Cross Functional Senior Leaders in the organization
Qualifications & Requirements :
Minimum Master's degree required
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Procurement (i.e. Indirect, Capex, Ingredients, Packaging), preferably with experience with External Manufacturing operations
People management experience
Financial acumen and experience with managing and forecasting complex portfolios and budgets
High results-orientation, takes initiative and bias for action with drive through resolution
Strong written, verbal, and listening skills
Ability to effectively negotiate and influence business decisions and change
Strong Analytical, Planning and Execution skills
Can be forceful and direct as well as diplomatic
