SUMMARY
This position will be responsible for efficiently and accurately performing blood collection and non-blood collection from donors.
This position will ensure compliance with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) policies, standard documentation practices, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) regulations, and other Regulatory Guidance’s as applicable.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and IRB Protocols.
- Complete all process and procedure training as required.
- Create a welcoming environment for donors to increase donor retention.
- Participate in donor recruitment and retention activities.
- Perform pre-donation donor screening qualification process according to SOPs.
- Maintain confidentiality with respect to personnel, donors, and site records utilized during all duties.
- Preparing donors for donation procedures
- Review donor record files for accuracy and completeness and ensure documentation is performed according to SOPs.
- Collect blood products or specimens through configuration of the collection device, performing phlebotomy, monitoring, and disconnecting the donor upon completion according to SOP.
- Perform daily, weekly, monthly, annual, and periodic calibrations activities.
- Assist in performing donor center facility and equipment cleaning and maintenance daily, weekly, monthly, and/or annual.
- Process, label and review units and samples in preparation for shipping according to specifications.
- Perform product and sample shipment activities, as necessary.
- Monitor collection supply levels and enter purchase requests, as necessary.
- Continually improve communication process between different areas to reduce errors and increase efficiencies.
- Member of the on-call team to respond to temperature events.
TRAVEL
This position may require up to 5 % travel over the course of a year.

Education and/or Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
- Minimum of one (1) year Phlebotomy experience OR Phlebotomy/Medical Assistant education program, required.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Preferred
- Certified in Phlebotomy from a National Organization, preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Proficiency in a variety of computer software programs including MS Office
- Ability to work in a team laboratory environment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
