Required Responsibilities of a Software Test Analyst:
Work alongside other testers, developers and management developing effective reusable strategies and test plans for new software and modifications and upgrades to legacy software. Understand appropriate test data and conditions to validate test plans. Identify and detail expected results and behaviors from execution of plans while maintaining compliance with project deliverables and industry best practices. Estimate testing time. Run functional tests, customer scenario testing, stress testing, performance testing, scalability testing, security testing and regression testing. Document test plan execution results. Work with Security Analyst to meet Corporate security requirements. Maintain and update Test Library Management and ensure proper documentation to meet Audit requirements. Stay current on web application security testing methodologies and use OWASP best practices during development life cycle and stay current on web browser updates, limitations, differences and similarities.
Pay attention to detail and perform work accurately and thoroughly. Manage and prioritize work load and adhere to schedules. Maintain and grow your knowledge and skills through on the job training, seminars, webinars, and self-study.
A Senior Software Test Analyst will also be responsible for the following:
Define and develop higher level, comprehensive test plans. Provide suggestions and alternative methods for accomplishing requests when needed. Assemble appropriate test data and conditions to validate test plans. Approve test plans, conditions and test data created by software test analysts and use automated testing tools. Manage the workload and priorities of software test analysts. Mentor and train personnel in testing methodologies, automation test tools, Company systems, and testing policies and procedures. Participate and train others in quality assurance testing of tablets. Handle more complex processing issues, provide processing support and assist with training.
Required Skills & Experience of a Software Test Analyst or Senior Software Test Analyst:
Minimum of 3 years testing experience required.
Project leadership or supervisory experience required at the Senior level.
Fluency in modern web browsers on multiple devices and their respective limitations and strengths.
Proficiency in Agile Software Development required.
Proficiency in bug tracking tools like JIRA or Bugzilla required.
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office Suite required.
Proficiency in written and spoken English.
Preferred Skills & Experience of a Software Test Analyst or Senior Software Test Analyst:
Proficiency with automated test tools and methodologies preferred.
Life Insurance knowledge and experience preferred.
Industry recognized certification preferred.
Artistic, creative thinking and open mindedness to new ideas and approaches is helpful.
Education Required of a Software Test Analyst or Senior Software Test Analyst:
BA/BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or related field required.
