Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking an Assembler 2 to join our Avionics and Tactical Networks operating unit.

Avionics and Tactical Networks (ATN) is an operating unit within the Mission Systems sector of Northrop Grumman. ATN is located in San Diego, California. We deliver complex equipment to enable modern battlefields and support aviation missions. Our focus is on the world of avionics, radio and electronic warfare product applications to enable networked communications.

As part of the corporation’s business focus area on Communications, we are the “equipment providers.� Our team of communication systems experts is developing next-generation ground radios for land forces, and our Electronic Warfare subject matter experts are creating the next generation of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) countermeasures to keep our soldiers safe when in harm’s way.

Roles & Responsibilities:
Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/ or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.
Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools.
Makes continuity checks on work in process and completed.
Understands quality specifications.
May disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies according to specifications and under simulated conditions.
Performs a variety of tasks ranging from repetitive to non-repetitive production assembly operations on electronic and/or mechanical assemblies and subassemblies such as modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables.
Works from diagrams and drawings, makes initial layouts, and uses hand and/or power tools, jigs, and saws.
May conduct quality inspections on processing line in accordance with quality specifications.

ERCOMMS

Basic Qualifications:
High School diploma with a minimum of 2 years experience within a manufacturing setting.
Must have experience with soldering small electronics.
Knowledge of techniques, approaches, guidelines, policies and procedures in the job area.
Must be able to perform assembly techniques in order to make modifications, rework and assemblies.
Cable wiring and schematic interpretation experience required.
Ability to perform good problem solving techniques which are fully defined and available through the supervisor, coworkers and written materials.
Must possess good, verbal and written communication skills for minimal interaction with others.

Preferred Qualifications:
Current J-STD-001 certification.
Understands basic electronics symbols and theory.
