Position Description

The Software Engineer (contract position with possibility of being temp to perm) will analyze, design, engineer, develop, test and assist in the implementation of creative, innovative and secure software applications, APIs and web services according to business needs and to solve business problems. Performs software integration across domains, platforms and environments. Identifies and corrects software defects, assists business end-users with system capabilities and research, performs technical system configuration and identifies software deficiencies and alternate solutions for software applications. Facilitate cross-divisional and cross-organizational collaboration on software initiatives to support multi-disciplined solutions. Perform project management activities including planning, estimating, managing, communicating, and coordinating large sized software development projects and activities of the highest complexity for new software or enhancements to existing software. Will work with in-house and external software including the FFenroll System, Selerix, Benefits Solver, CRM and RSVP. This is a 4 month contract position with a chance to become permanent.

Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • 7 -10 years experience in organizationally accepted programming, scripting, and markup languages (e.g., C# .NET, Java, Swift, JavaScript, T-SQL, HTML, XML, CSS, ASP .NET)
  • Expert in the usage of tools used for software development (e.g., Visual Studio, Chrome Developer Tools, SQL Server Enterprise Manager, SSRS)
  • Knowledge of the principles and patterns of system design (e.g., MVC) and object relational mapping (ORM)
  • Understanding of secure coding techniques and best practices; software analysis, design, and problem resolution; web application architecture; software development process and organizationally approved project management methodologies (e.g. Agile/Scrum, Waterfall)
  • Understanding of utilized software platforms and the associated interrelationships (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Alegeus, Selerix, Benefits Solver)
  • Experience working with 5010/834 file format, Jscript and HIPAA compliance
  • Understanding of the relationship between systems in the application portfolio as well as their business purpose
  • Strong oral and written communication skills including outstanding interpersonal and consultative skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, MIS or related fields

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the K-12 market benefits
  • Knowledge of general benefit plan terminology
  • Microsoft Certified Professional Developer (MCPD) or Microsoft Certified Master (MCM) or IEEE Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) or PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) or LOMA Fellow, Life Management Institute (FLMI)

Must be able to obtain and maintain security clearances and successfully complete a thorough background check.
