How the Program works
Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) choosing to work under the Weekend Warrior program must sign a Weekend Warrior Participant Agreement agreeing to work a 12 hour shift on consecutive Saturdays and Sundays. Employees in the Weekend Warrior Program agree to work 10 out of 12 weekends. Employees in the Weekend Warrior Program willonlyreceive the Weekend Warrior Program shift differential and no other differential for hours worked on the weekend. If a Weekend Warrior Participant works during the normal workweek, then the participant will be paid a shift differential according to the Center’s pay practices.
Licensed Practical Nurses who agree to join the Weekend Warrior Program will be paid a shift differential of $10.00 per hour for all hours worked according to the Weekend Warrior Program. If a participant in the Weekend Warrior “calls off” during the weekend, then the participant will not receive the Weekend Warrior shift differential or any other weekend differential for the weekend of the call off. A participantmustwork their full-shift to be eligible for the weekend warrior shift differential, unless the participant was asked to leave by management for a non-disciplinary reason (i.e. low census).
The LPN/Licensed Practical Nurse should have the ability to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served. Ability to bea supportiveteam member, contribute to and be an example of teamwork and team concept. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
Education and Experience
Graduate/Completion of approved/accredited school of nursing. Valid license as an LPN in the state of practice.
Nursing experience preferred (but not required) in a setting serving the same age/type of resident population served by this facility.
