Full Job Description
This clinic will be offering primary care services to patients of all ages at the Lafayette Medical Center (2700 S Lafayette St). The goal is for this clinic to become a federally-qualified health center look alike which will enable it to further expand access to care to the southeast Fort Wayne community. We are seeking candidates who are drawn to providing care to an underserved patient population. Providing care to patients will be both challenging and rewarding. This clinic aims to make a difference in the lives of its patients by providing them with high quality, compassionate care. In addition to providing access to primary care services, the team will connect these patients to the social services and community resources they need to reduce the burdens they may be experiencing. The clinic is committed to improving the health of the residents of southeast Fort Wayne.
Under the direction of the PPG leader, supports the clerical functions in the physician practice to ensure quality care. Conducts professional patient interactions by obtaining demographic and financial information. Greets and processes patients in an efficient, friendly, accurate and timely manner. Is responsible for the delivery of quality performance and service excellence; and adheres to the PH Standards of Behavior.
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with GED. Medical terminology and/or coding experience preferred.
Must have two years’ clerical experience, physician office experience preferred. Must have experience working with computers. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of general computer skills and applications. Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work independently using critical thinking skills. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
