GENERAL SUMMARY

Magazine as one of the 5000 Fastest Growing Companies in America. We are currently seeking an Operations Supervisor for our facility in Mt. Juliet, TN on 1st Shift. This position requires excellent leadership skills along with the ability to monitor workflow in a fast-paced distribution operation. This person is responsible to oversee the overall development of the associates and have the ability to mentor and coach a diverse team to success while maximizing productivity, cost savings, quality, and service levels. Additionally, the ideal candidate must be able to interact with senior company management in a productive and professional manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

A. Perform internal audits of inbound, and stored product.
B. Address non-conformities from previous internal and external audits; with Customer, ABB, Legacy Team and Individuals.
C. Participate in facility Management Review of the Quality System.
D. Follow-up on and closing pending RGA Requests.
E. Ensure that organizational systems and training and compliance are in place.
F. Participate in Training of Team Members and New Hires.
G. Support the ISO Team Lead with maintaining current and accurate facility SOP’s and preparing organization for ISO audit.
H. Coach, develop, hold accountable current team members and develop personal growth opportunities within the facility.
I. Coordinate onboarding and training of new team members.
J. Administer counseling, corrective action and performance management of Inventory/QA team.
K. Ensure that documentation and process controls are appropriate for organization.
L. Administer document control and configuration of management system.
M. Assist the management team and provide QA support as necessary.
N. Work closely with Inventory Leads on product damage and packaging issues from manufacturing facilities.
O. Meet established procedures and productivity, safety and quality standards.
P. Perform other related duties as assigned by manager.
Q. Provide customer service to manufacturing plants and end consumer on any quality related matter, providing root cause analysis, feedback and resolution to quality issues, related to products or processes.
R. Formulates and maintains quality assurance objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals.
S. Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods or Six Sigma methodology for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes.
T. Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.
U. Identifies and develops new internal processes and procedures for achieving profitability improvements in the Inventory Department.
V. Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
W. Designs and implements quality assurance training programs to key personnel in conjunction with managers.
X. Perform all tasks safely.
Y. Complete Monthly OSHA training and JSA’s
Z. Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, cherry pickers and reach trucks as required in a manner supporting all safety rules and procedures.
AA. Properly wear and use all prescribed PPE; and report when in need of replacement. (Such as approved safety glasses, steel toe shoes, gloves etc.)
BB. Ensure area Housekeeping requirements are met.
CC. Abides by all OSHA rules and LEGACY safety practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Education and/or Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years supervisor level experience in distribution or manufacturing environment.
  • BS/BA Degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proven success in maintaining quality, service and client relationships in a high-paced setting.
  • Experience working in team oriented, multi-shift environment.
  • Proven competencies in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Warehouse management and inventory management systems experience preferred (Manhattan WMS experience a plus).
  • Knowledge of ISO/QS procedures and Lean/Six Sigma experience preferred.
Language Skills:
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language (English) used in the workplace.

  • Efficiency with WMS and related software.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
A percentage of work time is spent in a warehouse where temperatures are hot or cold (seasonally) and noise level can be moderate to high.
