JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Insights & Analytics is responsible for creating, managing and communicating business insights gained by synthesizing data from multiple

sources. This position is primarily responsible for providing actionable insight for our Marketing Solutions products, maintenance and growth of the Harland

Clarke Industry Database, financial industry insights, customer insights, benchmarking, and market research. The Director will apply various quantitative

methods to analyze and interpret information from multiple data sources as needed (database information, financial, voice of the customer, third party data,

demographic/firmographic data, purchase behavior, etc). The Director will maintain a critical consulting and advisory role with senior management across the

organization, driving best practices and measurement methodology. This position is a working manager, sharing knowledge and coaching employees as much as

driving assigned projects.

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

Plans, develops, organizes, implements, directs, and evaluates the analytical and data mining functions and performance; directs the development of analytical products and the preparation of all analytical results for internal and external customers/clients. 15%

Employ the latest quantitative and analytical techniques, synthesize all available financial, marketing, sales, operational, social media and promotional data, develop cutting-edge business insights, to enhance the performance of the business and guide future business strategy. 15%

Participates and provides analytical leadership in the development of the company’s plans and programs; evaluates and advises on the impact of longrange

business intelligence planning and the introduction of new programs and strategies; studies trends within the analytical services field and assesses the opportunities. 10%

Translate core business strategies and organizational needs into actionable analytical initiatives that include statistical and quantitative analyses and reporting of marketing and/or industry data. 10%

Oversees market research insight and analytical methodologies that result in actionable recommendations and deliverables. 10%

Define requirements for data integration and measurement supporting new products, new campaigns, new brands, etc. 5%

Direct the development and execution of analytical processes to leverage client data across the areas of the business and support both company and client strategies. 10%

Establish a systematic approach for monitoring relevant trends, tapping both external and internal sources and advocate to management relevant solutions to mitigate issues or approaches to capture opportunities. 5%

Plans and manages processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives. 5%

Perform ad-hoc analysis as necessary to answer business questions and drive decisions. 5%

Builds relationships and collaborates with other functional areas to identify system integration opportunities and needs. 5%

Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties above. 5%

EDUCATION

Bachelor's Degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Marketing, quantitative business methods or related field (Required)

Master's Degree in Data Science, Advanced Analytics or MBA (Preferred)

EXPERIENCE

10+ years’ experience/expertise in database analytics, marketing mix modeling and quantitative research with an emphasis on applications in retail ecommerce, digital marketing, customer experience, and the supporting enabling technologies.

Extensive experience in quantitative and qualitative research and analytical methodologies and their application, including familiarity with external sources of industry, market, and consumer information.

Extensive experience with reporting and analysis design, measurement strategy, and development of business metrics.

Experience managing, mentoring and leading teams.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

Requires strong knowledge of financial services industry, market strategy and execution within the FI space.

Proven skills in articulating and communicating data-driven insights and strategies both verbally and in writing to colleagues and senior leadership.

Verifiable ability to conduct, manage and synthesize data, and proven ability to integrate disparate sources of information into a coherent “story" that answers specific business questions.

Proven characteristics of intellectual curiosity, responsibility, determination, creativity, flexibility, drive and self-confidence.

Excellent written, oral communication, project management and presentation skills. Ability to present complex data reports, financial analyses, and statistics in a simple and clear manner.

Passionate about analyzing data, drawing appropriate conclusions, and able to effectively translate findings to business strategies that positively impact

the business and customer.

EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE UTILIZED

Ability to utilize SQL, Hadoop, Cognos, SalesForce, SAP, or other database packages required.

Advanced analytics skills with Python, R, SAS, or SPSS required.

Advanced MS Excel, Access and PowerPoint required.

Tableau or similar data visualization tool preferred.

COMMUNICATION AND CONTACTS

  • Ability to summarize data analysis to Marketing, Product Management, eCommerce, Finance, IT, and Sales management.
  • Ability to communicate in a succinct and precise manner for management contacts.
  • Ability to communicate in technical detail to development and vendor resources.

  • Manage multiple analytics projects concurrently.
  • Use judgment to identify, prioritize, structure and solve complex business problems.
  • Ability to determine root cause of issues or successes when multiple variables are present that effect results.
