Western Industrial Tooling is an AS9100 aerospace manufacturer specializing in precision machining primarily in tooling and small run production. At Western Industrial Tooling we believe that only when the right people, equipment and mindset come together can the precision tooling and parts that our customers demand be created. We are in a modern, exceptionally clean, and climate controlled facility near downtown Redmond.

Shift Available: Monday – Friday, flexible hours between 5:00 am – 5:00 pm, 8 - 10 hours per day

Position Summary

The Journeyman Machinist / Toolmaker is responsible for programming, set-up, run, tear down on ProtoTrak lathes & mills, and other equipment to fabricate parts per engineering specifications without supervision.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Program, set-up, run, & tear down ProtoTrak mills and lathes without assistance. We will train you on the control
  • Attention to detail, able to hold tight tolerances, and make complex parts.
  • Solid knowledge of GD&T.
  • Lead projects and provide direction to other team members.
  • Able to read Boeing mechanical prints and specifications.
  • Multi-task, meet deadlines, and work overtime as required.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 5+ years mill and lathe experience
  • Self-motivated, ability to work well, problem-solve and trouble shoot with team members to optimize the machining process, improve set up time, and develop efficiencies on shop floor.
  • A U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident of the U.S., as defined in 8 U.S.C. 1101(a)(20) or a “protected individual”, as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
