The Lease Accountant will work with the lease administration team in the handling of rent payments for our retail leases. This role will collaborate with key real estate partners, internal and external auditors along with finance and legal teams to ensure all individual, team and organizational goals and priorities are achieved.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESULTS-
Review, analyze and perform desktop audits of year end reconciliations from Landlords regarding Common Area Maintenance (“CAM”), Real Estate Taxes and Utilities.
Analysis and payment of rent for 500+ retail stores.
Review the monthly invoices for escrow changes regarding CAM, Real Estate Taxes, Insurance, Utilities, Advertising/Promotion charges all while ensuring they are in compliance with the lease.
Manage and maintain a comprehensive database of lease information and documents, including expiration dates, rent schedules and Landlord contact information.
Collaborate with real estate and construction and design departments to ensure compliance with lease obligations, the actual opening of a new retail location and ultimately payment of rent;
Assist with some data entry into lease administration database.
Review and analyze lease agreements and amendments to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
Be able to communicate on a daily basis with Landlords and resolve any outstanding issues/discrepancies.
Maintain an open channel of communication and consistently follow up on important matters.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE-
1-2 years of experience in lease accounting or property management
Experienced with a public company, prior retailer a plus
The pay range for this role is $67,000-$75,000/yr USD.
