We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Chief Financial Officer in New York, New York. This role is pivotal in the finance sector, where the individual will be tasked with overseeing all aspects of the finance department, managing day-to-day accounting and finance functions, and advising on key financial issues.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all operations within the finance department, including accounts payable and receivable, invoicing, payroll, banking, and investment, fixed assets and materials management, and grants management.
- Provide support to finance staff and build strategic alliances with employees and contract service providers.
- Develop and maintain short and long-term financial strategies in alignment with organizational goals.
- Analyze business practices and manage scheduled upgrades based on resources, priorities, and goals.
- Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to provide policy guidance recommendations on key financial issues.
- Monitor compliance and performance of investment portfolios.
- Take part in Senior and Leadership Team meetings as required.
- Utilize skills in accounting software systems, business systems, CRM, accounting functions, budget processes, and cash flow analysis to effectively perform duties.
- Perform month-end close activities, prepare monthly financial statements, manage monthly reporting, and handle federal and government grants.
- Must hold a minimum of 10 years experience in a senior financial managerial position
- Proficiency in using 3M and ADP - Financial Services required
- Understanding of Business Systems and CRM is essential
- Ability to handle Accounting Functions and carry out Auditing tasks
- Experience in Budget Processes and Capital Management
- Skilled in Cash Flow Analysis, Month End Close, and Month-end Close Activities
- Must be able to manage Monthly Budget, Monthly Close and Monthly Financial Close
- Ability to prepare Monthly Financial Statements, Monthly Financials, Monthly Flash Report, and Monthly Reporting
- Experience in analyzing Monthly Variance
- Knowledge of Federal Grant, Government Grants, Grant Management, and Grant Accounting
- Experience in handling Foundation Grants
- Must have a strong understanding of Accounting Software Systems
