Legg Mason’s Chief Diversity Officer is seeking a highly motivated student to help execute on D&I related projects and initiatives this summer. We have already woven D&I into the fabric of our corporate culture, and we need your help executing critical projects this summer. Diversity and inclusion are enablers of better business performance and essential to relevancy in the next generation landscape in financial services. Come join us and help us expand our D&I efforts!
Students should have strong project management and leadership skills, some exposure to D&I, and a desire to make an impact.
Support the continued implementation of our global D&I strategy initiatives; plan, manage and provide deliverables on projects as assigned
Assist in development of awareness activities, training tools and resources for managers and employees related to D&I initiatives
Develop process, guidelines and maintain documentation in support of D&I efforts, including Employee Resource Groups (ERGs)
Assist in benchmarking and gap analysis of D&I metrics, practices and trends, summarizing relevant insights
Exposure to Senior Leaders and Executive Management Team
Prepare PowerPoint presentations and draft communications
Coordinate logistics for special meetings, events, activities (internal and external)
Identify and recommend external recognition or awards programs for participation. Coordination of internal stakeholders survey responses and submission.
Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree; should be a rising junior at minimum
Innovative thinker; can take a fresh look on current processes and identify new and creative ways to challenge the status quo
Agile learner; can quickly come up to speed with the business
Flexible; can work effectively in a matrixed environment with ambiguity
Strong analytical skills
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
Strong oral and written communication skills
Tableau software skills and knowledge a plus (not required)
