This position supports the NAMR Shared Services team to maintain processes and controls to ensure accurate processing of airfares booked through American Express Business Travel Account (BTA) cards. Through a detailed understanding of the factors and metrics that drive the new BTA airfare process, the BTA auditor is able to continuously drive the process efficiently and accurately. As a member of the NAMR Finance Shared Services team, you will work closely with Expense Auditors and Finance teams in BCG offices across the US and Canada, participating in the delivery of reliable auditing services to support local business needs. Develop and maintain an effective audit process to monitor airfare expense processed via American Express business travel accounts (BTA) on a regular basis, including but not limited to the below items: Obtain the centralized data from AMEX consistently and completely Audit the airfare by using a risk-based approach Ensure the project codes are charged correctly Track and validate credits due to cancellation in an organized way Effectively monitor and manage exchange fees between projects Capture all in-lieu of travel expenses to ensure proper travel types are used Effectively communicate findings to team and regional management Delinquency and card usage monitoring Account maintenance (open, setup, close) Work exceptions through to resolution Identify opportunities to improve audit process on a continuous basis Provide analytical report(s) to local finance teams on a regular basis Propose effective action plans based off of observation during analysis to local finance teams to make sure travelers comply with BCG travel policies Provide assistance to the Expense Audit team as needed to meet team goals / initiatives Deliver audit results within a committed time frame Close exceptions within a committed time frame Provide data analysis for high risk processes / individuals Other data requests related to airfare
Basic Job Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-4 years of experience managing an American Express corporate credit card program strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Experience with an internal audit function desirable and airfare audit experience a plus.
  • Business Objects or similar data query tool experience preferred
