Full Job Description

Summary

Provides care to all general care patient populations, in addition to Adult Critical Care. Provides bedside diagnostic procedures as needed. Reviews and maintains respiratory care plans. Performs evaluations on patients and adjusts the care appropriately. Assists as a preceptor for students and new hires.

Education

Must be a graduate of a Respiratory Care Program.

Licensure/Certification

Must hold a valid Certified Respiratory Therapy Technician credential from the NBRC. Must have a current Indiana State license for Respiratory Care Practitioners. Must have current certification in CPR. For Parkview Randallia and Community Hospital locations, must have ACLS and NRP certifications or obtain within 6 months from date of hire or transfer; PALS and Stable preferred but not required. Certified Respiratory Care Practitioners hired/rehired or an external transfer from different position on or after July 22, 2018 must obtain valid Respiratory Therapist credential from the NBRC within one year of employment or will not be eligible to continue employment in this role within Parkview.

Other Qualifications

Must be able to be able to be on call. Must be able to lift 30 pounds.
