**Position Overview**

Pearson seeks a Senior Software Product Manager to support new product offerings in the area of Learning Analytics. This individual works collaboratively with the product team to define and prioritize product requirements using Agile methodologies. In addition, he/she interfaces with software development teams to convey product requirements in a clear and concise manner, including responding to the day-to-day queries that arise during the development process.

The Senior Software Product Manager is responsible for monitoring the performance of the solution in the market and driving strategic and tactical adjustments to the product roadmap, as needed. The focus is on delivering requirements on time, within budget, and with customer satisfaction at top of mind.

The Senior Software Product Manager also works collaboratively with cross functional departments such as Customer Support, Technical Support, and Services to represent their requirements in solutions being developed and to keep them updated on changes that will impact their work.

_Key Responsibilities_

  • Engage in the continuous assessment of market needs through frequent interactions with internal and external stakeholder groups. Prioritize the needs of various stakeholders in light of Pearson K12 Learning strategic goals and be able to clearly articulate those needs to software developers.
  • Frequently review change requests and emerging requirements, which serve as directional input to future product roadmap choices.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing applications and innovate new products in order to increase market share and drive revenue growth.
  • Develop product proposals and related financial planning, including development of business case (cost/benefit) analysis and ongoing management of allocated budget.
  • Communicate roadmap and feature highlights to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide timely support of RFP and proposal development queries.
  • Work closely with training and marketing communications teams as subject matter expert on product capabilities and product roadmap, to support preparation of training, support, and promotional materials.

_Education and Experience_

  • Minimum of three to five years’ experience as a Product Manager, Business Development Manager, or equivalent, preferably in the education market.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
_Skills, Knowledge and Abilities_

  • This role requires a strong technical aptitude for understanding complex workflows that are executed in coordination across a large number of disparate teams.
  • Demonstrated / documented success defining or sourcing, launching and managing profitable products.
  • Proven track record of effectively engaging the target market: prospective and existing customers, partners and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated negotiation, collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • Proven ability to influence and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Travel requirements: up to 10% travel
