Value Line Publishing, founded in 1931, is an independent investment research and financial publishing firm located in Midtown Manhattan. We are seeking a Quality Assurance Manager within our IT Project Management Office to assist in the testing and modernization of our systems.

As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will manage a team of two full time Quality Assurance engineers. You will write clear and concise test plans to ensure that all newly developed and legacy systems work in accordance with business requirements. Applications in the portfolio are primarily web based and desktop based. You will be responsible for all defect tracking and remediation including regression testing. You will participate in hands on, manual testing. Occasional after hours and weekend work is required when applications are put into production.

Under the direction of the Director of Project Management and in coordination with an IT Project Manager and the head of DevOps, you will communicate the status of testing initiatives to ensure that all Value Line application projects are completed successfully and on time. You will send a weekly status report outlining the state of each QA initiative along with prevailing concerns and participate in department meetings.

In addition, you will provide hands-on support to Tier II software issues by troubleshooting the issue and communicating to other teams as needed.

To be successful in this role, you have the demonstrated ability to describe technical concepts in clear, concise English (both written and verbal). You are collaborative and are adept at creating comprehensive test plans for new features and legacy functions. You are deadline oriented. You work well as part of a team of subject matter experts who possess a wide variety of technical experience. You have experience managing and motivating QA engineers.

You have a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or a related area of study.

You have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in QA Management.

You have previous experience as a QA lead and hands on manual testing experience.
