The Dell Social Business Team is looking for a self-starter who loves data analysis, social & traditional media, and technology to join our growing Insights Team. The Media Data & Insights Analyst will provide valuable insights around media activities to guide communication strategy across Dell, Dell EMC, and Dell Technologies. A successful candidate will be a communication-savvy, analytical thinker who thrives in a cross-functional setting. This individual will use cutting edge software to quickly translate large volumes of media data into relevant trends for all categories of our business. This role requires the ability to write clear and concise presentations for internal client summarizing data insights, outcomes and implications in straight-forward and enlightening way.
The Insights Team operates as an agency for our internal stakeholders. Teams look to us for best practices and trainings on how to utilize data to become better marketers. We’re looking for someone who is not only interested in data analysis, but comfortable in presenting findings and teaching methods. The Dell Social Business Team is a global team of over 30 talented social minds with responsibility for all social media training, enablement, and activation across Dell, Dell EMC, and Dell Technologies. Aggregate large scale data collected from global coverage with the goal of identifying trends, opportunities and other insights
Prep and deliver an insights-based Quarterly Social Business Review by exporting, cleaning, and aggregating data from Sprinklr and Omniture, and matching / visualizing data in Tableau
Coordinate with PR leads the approach and ongoing management of coverage tiers and publication lists for tracking content
Deliver standard and ad-hoc reports for executive-level audiences, PR teams, and many other communicators around content performance and health
Partner with the various teams to monitor Dell Technologies-related coverage trends in real-time
Manage real-time crisis alerting, reporting, and management, working closely with various crisis communicators and leadership teams
Participate in scheduled report read-outs with internal clients to present insights and actionable recommendations
Understand our internal clients' respective business requirements and design reporting and analysis approaches tailored to their specific needs
Empower our internal clients with data driven recommendations that will support messaging strategy, content creation and activation plans
Contribute to training and documentation, interactive workshops, and in-person consultation on media measurement platforms, data interpretation, and overall value of insights
Help advance our insights practice through collaboration with Digital/Web, Brand, Campaigns, and other related stakeholder groups for integrated data analysis
Maintain a working knowledge of all Dell Technologies' departments, their objectives and their operations to deliver effective analysis of media audience as it pertains to their goals and objectives
Passionately stay on top of industry trends and techniques around social media, traditional media, communications practices and/or data analysis
Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university with a focus in statistics/mathematics, economics, communications, or applicable field
Experience in reporting, research or insights-based role on the client-side or for an agency
Previous work in communications-based role a plus
Solid understanding of core social channels; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn, Snapchat, along with their corresponding data sets and common KPIs
Expert-level proficiency with Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with Adobe Omniture. Knowledge of Sprinklr and Tableau a plus
Ability to analyze complex data sets and effectively communicate actionable insights to support goals and objectives
An interest (and fluency a plus) in Dell and Dell EMC's core product and solution areas (PCs, storage, cloud, big data, security, etc)
Team player with strong collaboration skills
Resourceful, can-do-it attitude
Ability to be flexible based on shifting timelines and priorities
Strong project management skills with ability to prioritize multiple requests in a fast-paced environment
