Larry Kutscher - Chief Executive Officer
Larry Kutscher is Chief Executive Officer of A Place for Mom. Larry is a veteran CEO with over 30 years of experience leading digital, technology and service businesses through significant periods of growth and value creation. Prior to this role, he served as Chief Executive Officer of TravelClick, where he drove the company’s overall strategic vision and helped increased the company’s value from approximately $300 million to more than $1.5 billion over eight years.
The APFM content & data technology team is looking for a Senior UI Developer who will focus on enhancing customer experience on web sites like aplaceformom.com, assistedliving.com, senioradvisor.com, ourparents.com, seniorszen.com, and nursinghomes.com. Job responsibilities will include understanding the customer segment and their journey. Providing information on various senior care options and then helping them find the right community based on their lifestyle and needs.
You will design and build desktop and mobile optimized web sites. The role requires hands-on software development skills, deep technical expertise across the entire software delivery process.

What you will do:
Hands-on software development skills, deep technical expertise in frontend web development, especially in React.js, HTML5, CSS, LESS, SASS.
Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability.
Working closely with your peers in Product and Design to innovate on current and future product offerings.
Creating and maintaining technical documentation.
Participating in meaningful and thorough code reviews.
Helping to ensure the performance, quality and responsiveness of the application.
Collaborating with the team to ship new features quickly.
Optimize web sites for Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
Required Skills and Competencies:
BS degree or higher in Computer Science with a minimum of 5+ years of engineering experience is required.
Extensive experience building public facing web frontend beyond just prototypes.
5+ years of experience of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3.
5+ years of experience of server-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS.
3+ years of experience with conversion of InVision designs to HTML5, CSS3.
Knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiarity with tools such as Gimp or Photoshop is a plus.
Proficient understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to work around them.
Experience in building web sites to comply with American with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Experience working on large scale, high traffic websites a plus.
Solid understanding of core programming principles, design patterns.
2+ years of experience in building AMP pages. #LI-DB1
