Facebook is one of the world's largest content platforms and plays a critical role in helping people discover content, creators, and communities they love. We are seeking a highly-motivated and experienced attorney to serve as Lead Counsel, Product on the Facebook media legal team. The role will focus on counseling the product and engineering teams that are building some of the most high-profile tools for publishers and content creators in the News and entertainment space. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team and to work on novel issues internationally in a dynamic regulatory environment.
Review global products, features, platforms and initiatives to provide practical legal risk mitigation strategies across multiple jurisdictions.
Provide product, engineering and other business teams with legal advice across many subject areas including consumer protection law, platform/publisher liability, intellectual property, media law, data protection laws and regulations, etc.
Coordinate with other members of legal, public policy, privacy, communications and other stakeholders on relevant issues.
Adapt to rapidly changing and ambiguous circumstances.
Travel occasionally as needed.
JD degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar.
5+ years of legal experience from a law firm or in-house.
Experience working with content creation and licensing, user generated content and advising clients on legal issues such as privacy and data use.
Media law or publishing experience.
Product review experience.
Demonstrated ability to work on many different projects at once in a fast-paced environment.
