Crane Aerospace and Electronics has an exciting opportunity for a Shipping Inspector - 2nd Shift at our Lynnwood, WA location.
Job Summary:
The Shipping Inspector evaluates a variety of products such as Power Supply Electronic Units, Switches and Sensors, Battery Chargers, Fuel Flowmeters and Low Voltage Power Supplies against engineering drawings, Customer Purchase Order Requirements and Workmanship Standards.
Essential Functions:
- Verify product compliance against End Item drawing requirements for proper dimensions, finish, corrosion, Connector keying using calipers, thread gages, micro-hite, and other appropriate measuring instruments or similar complexity
- Review product against the pick slip/ invoice for correct part number, serial number and other internal or Customer requirements called out on the pick slip
- Review all paperwork required including pick slips for Quality Purchase Order requirements, and Manufacturing Record for completeness and accuracy, including Test Data, to ensure the product meets all of the required specification requirements
- Review non-conformance reports related to the product to ensure they have been corrected and closed prior to shipping the product
- Ensure current internal first article reports are on file for the product to be shipped
- Act as Customer Source Inspector when delegated by the Customer
- Write Non-Conformance Reports if parts do not meet drawing and Customer requirements
- Submit product to Customer Source Inspectors when applicable
- Any other task assigned by supervisor or management
Non-Essential Functions:
- Maintain a clean and safe work area
- Ensure tooling is kept clean and stored in proper location on a daily basis
- Familiar with AS9100 standards
Minimum Qualifications:
- ExperienceExperience: 5-7 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge: Knowledge of basic mechanical inspection tools and interpretation of drawing and specification requirements
- Skills/Abilities: Competence to perform inspections using calipers, thread gages, scales, micro-hite; General PC skills, including Word, Excel and Oracle; Ability to interpret drawings and part specifications; Accurate color vision and depth perception; Vision corrected to 20/20; Ability to work in a team oriented environment, including interfacing with Order Management, Internal Quality Engineers, Customers and other Internal Management personnel
- Education/Certification: High School diploma or equivalent
- Eligibility Requirement: This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US Persons will be considered. As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Shipping and or Receiving Inspection with familiarity of Quality Requirements called out in Purchase Orders in addition to product specifications
- Experience in Aerospace
Working Conditions:
- Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment
- Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE
- May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
- Involves handling parts in compliance with Electrostatic Discharge Devices (ESD procedures)

Salary range: $19.97 to $27.58. Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus programs.
