Lead Field Engineer for Material Handling Automation Systems
Candidate must be a US citizen.
Currently there are several positions open for Lead Field Engineers in Atlanta GA, Chicago IL and Indianapolis IN. The candidate must reside in these areas or be willing to relocate.
The successful candidate will act as an integral part of the Retiina engineering team by leading the commissioning and troubleshooting of large sorting systems in major cities around the United States. This position focuses on electrical-mechanical-controls automation, sorting automation, and robotics technologies.
Previous experience commissioning large electrical/mechanical equipment is required. Knowledge of real time controls and complex control systems is preferred as there are many PLC and PC controllers in the systems. Candidate must be very hands-on and able to use mechanical, electrical, and software tools. Must be a quick learner, as the work is fast paced. Good communications skills are important for interfacing with customers and engineers on site.
Education and Experience:
- Candidate must have a Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, or other related engineering field.
- Candidate must have field engineering experience of not less 6 years in automation systems.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience of 10 years is also acceptable.

Responsibilities include the following:
- Lead team and perform technical tasks to provide technical maintenance and operational support of industrial automation equipment at customer site.
- Effective and timely communication to the customer of real time status and daily reports using technical and operational terms.
- Understand and utilize electrical schematics, network diagrams and mechanical drawings for industrial control systems.
- Test integrated electro-mechanical automation systems and perform troubleshooting as needed.
- Repair and maintain systems in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications, machinery and mechanical equipment, using hand tools, power tools, end precision-measuring and testing instruments.
- Utilize multimeters, tachometers, oscilloscope or other tools to diagnose, analyze and troubleshoot industrial control systems.
- Provide management and customers with timely and accurate technical information in a positive, accurate and consistent manner.
- Perform all activities and adhere to company policies and procedures relating to safety.
