Primary Responsibilities: The Team Leader is the Role Model for outstanding service and “owner” of the service initiative at his/her restaurant during their shift; and is able to make sound decisions quickly, always keeping the guest in mind. Ensures prompt, friendly service according to company guidelines.

Specific Functions and Duties:

  • Leads overall activities and performance of associates on a shift by shift basis.
  • Performs all POS duties, front or back of the house functions including opening and closing procedures (as required) and coordinating with various internal departments as necessary.
  • Creates a culture using the Keystone Apple & Applebee’s Mission statements.
  • Responds proactively to prevent guest service situations. Investigates and resolves staff guest incidents/complaints received, and refers all written guest complaints to General Manager.
  • Enforces alcohol awareness on a shift to shift basis (FOH TL).
  • Follows all Company drink recipes and procedures (FOH TL) or food production (BOH TL) consistently maintaining the highest product quality standards.
  • Manages food and/or liquor costs within acceptable standards.
  • Manages labor costs, by shift, within acceptable variances and according to labor laws.
  • Assures the compliance with the local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines.
  • Complies with and ensures all cash handling procedures are upheld; accountable for store funds while running a shift (FOH TL).
  • Determines job assignments on a shift by shift basis.
  • Coordinates opening and closing activities in a timely and safer manner.
  • Inspires cooperation and teamwork from associates by breeding a culture derived from Keystone Apple & Applebee’s Mission statements.
  • Develops goals and action plans for personal/professional growth.
