Our AFC team is responsible for protecting Deutsche Bank from financial and reputational losses incurred by financial crimes by assessing, controlling and mitigating risks. Risk types related to Anti-Financial Crime are consolidated in a comprehensive and effective risk management framework that covers Anti-Money-Laundering, Sanctions & Embargoes, Anti-Bribery & Corruption as well as Anti-Fraud & Investigations.


You will focus on developing and driving changes in relation to Anti-Financial Crimes Governance framework in the Americas region. Critical responsibilities include executing project plans in response to regulatory commitments for developing robust AFC Governance in an effort to enable appropriate senior management decision making. The role will support the AFC Americas Governance run-the-bank (RtB) function:

You will participate in designing key changes and engage in high priority projects to embed such measures
Managing adherence with BaFin Regulatory requirements relating to Central Unit Framework, which exists to provide Deutsche Bank Group MLRO with oversight and assurances concerning the prevention of ‘AML, Terrorist Financing and all other criminal activities’ as prescribed by the German Banking Act
Organizing materials for all Americas AFC-owned governance forums, including the Regional Financial Crime Governance Committee
Providing quality checks of minutes produced for Governance forums owned by AFC Americas
Drive content and participate in AFC Americas regional governance forums
Liaise with AFC functional heads (AML, Sanctions, Anti-Fraud, Anti-Bribery & Corruption) and non-AFC stakeholders who are responsible for the management of other forms of specialist criminal activity (IT Security, Corporate Security, Group Legal, Group Data Privacy, Group Tax)
Relationship management with relevant non-AFC senior stakeholders in region across the organization e.g. Legal, Data Privacy, IT Security, Corporate Security etc
Acquire a thorough understanding, and collate necessary documentary evidence concerning AFC functions and non-AFC specialist functions to cover of ‘AML, Terrorist Financing and all other criminal activities’, to gain a thorough understanding of how Deutsche Bank stakeholder groups are managing the risks of those activities arising
In cooperation with the respective Subject Matter Expert, determine relevant Key Performance Indicators for those stakeholders to report upon, for their respective criminal risk exposure and controls
Work with functional (AFC and non-AFC) owners to create remediation plans against identified gaps within the AFC Governance framework; track remediation plans
Establish regular reporting and meetings with stakeholders to maintain detailed and up-to-date understanding of ongoing programs, issues and significant events in respective areas
Deliver support for enhancements relating to AFC Governance stemming from change-the-bank efforts

Key Responsibilities:
Coverage of run-the-bank commitments relating to the AFC Governance framework to enable and improve forums utilized for Financial Crimes risk decision-making
Develop, document and maintain formalized AFC Governance framework, inclusive of AFC-owned forums and AFC participation on other 1st line of defense and 2nd line of defense forums owned by other functions
Maintain current inventory of all AFC related governance forums and detail expectations and responsibilities of AFC participants for each
Responsible for maintaining calendar of AFC related governance forums and ensuring appropriate preparation of AFC participants, including Regional Head of AFC
Partner with change-the-bank AFC Governance counterparts to stratify and tailor existing AFC Governance materials to better position senior management to make informed risk-based decisions
Participate in formalizing and creating engagement models and escalation paths for AFC Governance across first and second lines of defense
Proactively identifying challenges and risks, while raising such to management with recommendations to address
Locally supervise the AFC MI and AFC Governance employees in Jacksonville

You will have:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent; post-graduate is a plus
Relevant Experience in AFC, Risk Management, and Corporate Governance
Highly professional demeanor with excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
Knowledge of regulatory expectations and industry standards in relation to AFC Governance
Knowledge of applicable AFC laws and regulations, including Bank Secrecy Act
Ability to deliver timely and quality execution in a fast-paced and high-pressured environment
Detail oriented and organized, as well as proactive in follow up on pending deliverables
Flexibility to work extended hours to meet deadlines, when necessary
Ability to act decisively and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Strong Technical skills using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
