Pay Range: $17.50 to $22.00 an hour DOE
Locations: 3229 W. Mohave, Phoenix, AZ 85009
Hours: Must be able to start at 4:30AM
Summary of Job:
As a Spray Technician, you will perform a variety of skilled tasks regarding spraying of chemicals on designated properties.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to complete assigned tasks individually
- Knowledge and use of spray equipment
- Knowledge of application of chemicals and storage of chemicals
- Ability to physically apply herbicide to plant material by using a backpack or by using a cart
- Ability to mix chemical according to manufacturing label
- Advanced knowledge to troubleshoot spray equipment
- Follow mandated record-keeping policies and procedures
- Interface directly with Superintendents
- Maintain adherence to all OSHA standards
- Perform skilled to unskilled maintenance work involving strenuous tasks often under adverse climatic conditions
Job Skills/Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 1+ years’ experience in herbicide application
- Certified with Category 3 & 4 License
- Arizona Driver License and clean MVR record
Physical requirements/Environmental Factors:
- Able to lift 50 lbs (Equipment, tools, and supplies may need to be lifted, carried and/or pushed)
- Able to walk/stand for long periods of time
- Able to reach, bend, twist, kneel, stoop, squat, crouch and grasp along with repetitive movements may part of daily job duties
- Contact with various plants, flowers and chemicals
- Must be able to work in summer and winter climates
