Our team members hold advanced degrees in subjects ranging across statistics, mathematics, computer sciences and other quantitative disciplines, and have backgrounds in a variety of fields including data science, marketing analytics and academia.

3-GIS is growing rapidly and is seeking to add an exceptional person with a background in GIS and database technologies. The Jr. Database Administrator is responsible for database management of various databases supporting applications. This position will require both technical level experience and ability to interface with all levels of users. It will also require user support as needed.

Duties and responsibilities

Job Duties:
Safely implement changes to databases
Code and test SQL, applying knowledge of database management.
Design databases for OLTP and Data Warehouse systems.
Review and evaluate description of changes to database designs.
Communicate or direct communication of database changes to affected parties.
Understand impact of database changes and make recommendations as appropriate.
Consult with project managers to design appropriate solutions.
Must be able to create and maintain database functions, stored procedures and triggers.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
Minimum of 0-2 years direct experience with RDBMS Databases
Knowledge of SQL language and programming
Must have advanced technical experience in database administration (PostgreSQL and MS SQL), design, and data warehousing.
Problem solving skills
Oral and written communications
Teamwork

Preferred Requirements:
Spatial database experience
Experience relating and modifying spatial data is desired.
Oracle experience is a plus.
