Overview
The Commissioning Engineer provides technical expertise and develops solutions to automation technical problems. Has wide understanding of controls-related products, solutions, and engineering concepts. Supports development specifications, reads and reviews device layout drawings and control schematics, and uses PLC ladder logic to provide solutions to new projects or customer issues.

Responsibilities
Provides expertise for conveyor systems, automated and semi-automated material handling systems, static and dynamic storage systems, and robotic modules
Meets project implementation and installation requirements by working with on-site personnel, including installers
Communicates with internal and external client design and engineering team members throughout implementation
Generates and finishes redline as-built CAD drawings
Travels to sites to facilitate installation and execution; assembles, aligns and installs equipment as needed
Provides documentation and support to the field wiring team
Reviews customer specifications and scope documentation to assist in installation, startups, and troubleshooting
Provides documentation, training, and support to clients
Inspects assembled equipment to ensure proper installation; inspects all operating parts to insure proper operation
Provides mechanical and electrical equipment troubleshooting
Travels up to 100%
Qualifications
Combination of training and experience providing required knowledge, skills and abilities, such as Associate’s degree in electronics, electrical, or controls engineering or a related field with experience commissioning controls-related systems at customer facilities
Experience with Allen-Bradley controls/controllers
Experience with various industrial HMI and SCADA systems and Siemens, Omron, and Schneider PLCs a plus
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical principles and industrial automation
Ability to read and understand system layouts, schematics, and control devices
Ability to troubleshoot and adjust PLC programs
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines
Team-oriented and collaborative
Creative-thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to learn new technologies
Self-motivated
Ability to work non-traditional hours
