Unique Aspects of this Position: This position is perfect for the surgeon who wants a healthy balance between work and personal life. There is no ER call. Nearly all the cases are elective. You will have time to concentrate on the intellectual aspects of dialysis access surgery you enjoy while being part of a reliable team that deals with the routine follow-up.
We are heavily involved in dialysis access research and have 2 protocols going right now.
You will work in the outpatient hospital, ambulatory surgery center, and office-based access center settings
Salary $300,000-$350,000 per year depending on experience

Minimum Requirements : Board Certified or eligible in General, Vascular, or Transplant surgery.
Skills : Must be skillful in the surgical creation of arteriovenous fistulas and grafts and placement of peritoneal dialysis catheters. Basic laparoscopic skills needed for peritoneal dialysis catheter placement and troubleshooting.
Attitude : A very positive attitude towards dialysis access surgery and the care of patients with chronic kidney disease is essential. LDAC Dialysis access surgeons must work closely as a team with interventionists and physician assistants.
Other Requirements : 1. Travel to satellite clinics is required an average of one day per week. 2 Responsibility for after hours coverage is shared with 3 LDAC surgeons. 3. Candidate must be eligible to obtain hospital privileges in dialysis access surgical procedures.
