Work with Production and Product Develop to evaluate opportunities for reductions in manufacturing costs using new and current technologies. Work on project teams to bring new products to market and improve current products. Improve environmental impact of the products and facility.
INTERACTION WITH: Quality, Purchasing, Production, Product Development.
Participate on cross functional project teams to bring new products to market and improve current products and processes
Assist Product Development in design, detailing and prototyping components for existing and new product designs
Design Assembly cells and fixtures with a focus on quality, flexibility and quick change over
Specify, evaluate, and select new equipment
Work with Quality Department and Product Development to design processes that ensure good product quality
Work with QC to address component quality and design problems affecting manufacturing and production process
Trouble shoots and facilitate repair of existing equipment and production processes.
Support Quality Management System (ISO9001 and IATF16949) through project documentation (DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, Work Instructions, etc.)
Programing of equipment (CNC, PLC, Smart tools, Benders, etc)
Set standard work (cost) for new and existing jobs
RECOMMENDED POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Four year Engineering degree required
5-7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Mechanically and Electrically proficient (including the use of hand, power, machine shop tools, and multimeters)
Equipment Programing (PLC, CNC, Tools)
Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs.
Computer Skills (Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Solidworks and AutoCAD)
Ability and willingness to work across shifts as needed
Proactive and able to work with little supervision.
